![]() ![]() Last week, 270 doctors, physicians, and science educators signed an open letter to Spotify accusing the show of “broadcasting misinformation, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.” One of the people who helped launch the campaign, epidemiologist Jessica Malaty Rivera, said she was moved to speak out specifically because of the episode featuring Dr. Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy.” He concluded, “please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.”Īnd Young isn’t the only one who’s taken issue with some of the talking points on Rogan’s podcast as of late. He continued, “With an estimated 11 million listeners per episode, JRE, which is hosted exclusively on Spotify, is the world’s largest podcast and has tremendous influence. ![]() “I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines-potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.” He added the ultimatum, “They can have Young or Rogan. “I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,” Young wrote, according to Rolling Stone. In a since-deleted letter posted by Young and written to his management team and record label, the legendary musician told Spotify that he’s done doing business with them until they’re done working with Rogan. Neil Young is taking a strong stance against Joe Rogan and COVID-19 vaccine disinformation, demanding that the music streaming platform immediately remove his entire discography. ![]()
